Amor Township Minutes For
August 14, 2019
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Holstrom. Others in attendance were Supervisor Kerry Baumgartner, Supervisor Eric Roberts, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, Brian Roberts and Jeff Stabnow.
Pledge allegiance was recited.
Minutes were read and a motion was made by Roberts to accept, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $728,478.77. Roberts made a motion to accept, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.
Roberts made a motion to approve and pay claims #4511-4532, and 3 automatic withdrawals. It was seconded by Baumgartner and carried.
Clerk Hildebrand purchased 2 flag poles and stands at an auction for $5.00. The Hildebrand’s donated them to the township. Motion was made by Roberts to purchase a state flag for the second poll to match the National flag. It was seconded by Baumgartner and carried.
Lot Pros painted the crosswalk at Red Lantern Resort and one at Holly’s Resort.
Baumgartner went to the fire meeting. It was a long meeting. The new truck was discussed. It has been ordered.
Holstrom and Baumgartner attended the district meeting. Holstrom will check into getting insurance coverage from MAT and the cost to compare with Country Financial which is the current company we use.
Brian Roberts gave a report on ditch mowing. The rain has delayed it some.
Jeff Stabnow asked about replacing the crosswalk signs with new high visibility and have arrows pointing to the crosswalk. Roberts made a motion to have them ordered and placed by the new crosswalks. It was seconded by Baumgartner and carried.
Baumgartner made a motion to accept a quote from for chloride treatment to be placed now. Fergus Power pump was not able to do it yet. Their quote was $.69/ft. Residents will pay $.35/ft to help offset the cost of putting it down by their property. It was seconded by Roberts and carried.
Hildebrand gave the park report. It has slowed down with reservations. There was a celebration of life for Randy Abbott. It was very well attended and parking was not an issue. The hand wash station is broken in the men’s bathroom. Roberts made a motion to replace it this year, Baumgartner seconded and carried.
Baumgartner found LP gas leaks in the shop and at the tank. He had them fixed. He also cleaned up and took all of the hazardous waste into the county garage to be disposed of properly.
With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:42 pm.
