Amor Township Minutes for

January 11, 2023

Meeting called to order by Chairman Mike Holstrom. Others in attendance were Supervisor Kerry Baumgartner, Supervisor Rick Pulford, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, Jim Olson and Dave Holmgren. Clerk Brenda Hildebrand was absent due to illness.

Pledge allegiance was recited.

Minutes were read by Chairman Holstrom and a motion was made by Baumgartner to accept, seconded by Pulford and carried.

Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $617,406.30. Pulford motioned to accept, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

Pulford made a motion to approve and pay claims #5397-5415 w/ payroll, and 5 automatic withdrawals. Check 5387 was voided.  It was seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

Dave Holmgren discussed the old V-plow being put on and is working well. The machinist was able to fabricate brackets to make it fit the new grader. There is no need for a new one at this time. Would like to have it sandblasted and painted to stop some of the rusting. May try to plow in the field owned by Fern Christensen on Augustana Drive. She has passed away so will need to find out who owns the property now. It would help with the drifting. Some areas have been plowed already to help with drifting.

Discussion on the Cares Act Funding. Township Attorney Ruppi recommends to wait for now.

Craig Seeman was contacted to finish the installation of the generator. Holstrom suggested that we build a shelter over it. Will discuss more at next meetings.

Discussion on crack sealing and shouldering on some roads.

Fire meeting was cancelled due to weather.

Holmgren will look into new ceiling fans in the shop area. One is not working well. They were put in when the building was built.

With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:50pm.
