Meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Holstrom. In attendance were Supervisor Val Dietz, Supervisor Eric Roberts, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, Steve Johnson, Dave Holmgren, Engineer Jeff Stabnow, Dan Thorson, Daryl and Terry Enerson, Morti Gross, and Julie Narum-Johnson 

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Chairman Holstrom called the meeting to order.

Minutes were read.  Motion to approve minutes made by Dietz, seconded by Roberts and carried.

Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $191,839.66 and money market was closed and has a balance of $0.00. Motion to approve made by Dietz, seconded by Roberts and carried.

Chairman Holstrom made a motion to approve claims #3842-3861, and 2 automatic withdrawals and 4 debit card transactions; it was seconded by Roberts and carried.

Clerk gave a report on Clean Up Days. There were 40 loads with 3 people bringing 2 loads for a total of 43 loads. It went very smoothly. A thank to Zion Church and Chuck Erickson for the allowing us to use God’s Acres due to the construction at the town hall.

Daryl and Terry Enerson addresses the board with concerns about the speed and traffic on Eldorado Beach road past their business. Dan Thorson also voiced his concerns. After some discussion and explaining of the raising of the speed limits from 30 mph to 35 mph, Enerson asked the board to do a speed study.  Roberts made a motion to have it done, seconded by Dietz and carried. Engineer Stabnow will look into it and get back to the board. Eldorado Beach Rd, Augustana Dr, Walker Lake Road, Oak Ridge Beach Rd, and West Point Trail will all be in the speed study. Enerson also requested a crosswalk be placed on the road for the people at the resort to use to get to the lake.  The engineer will check on this as well.

Julie Narum Johnson and Morti Gross addressed the board about a road issue they have concerning Camp Nidaros Trail. The board clarified that it is a cart way and the township has no authority over it. Each owner owns part of the road and suggested that they put up a private drive sign.

Tri City bill was discussed. Dietz made a motion to request the full amount from the bank with a 5 year pay back; Resolution 072016. Roberts seconded it and carried.

The Ottertail Fire Dept. sent a proposal for a new pumper truck. The estimate was $2,675/yr over 20 years.

Road issues were discussed. Crysta Hanson and Steve Torgerson asked to have chloride put on the gravel in front their properties and the township to pay half the cost. Dietz made a motion not to pay any of the cost, it was seconded by Roberts and carried. It will be up to the property owner to pay, and they will need to contact the township before so the road is in shape before the chloride is put down.

Lakes Area Cooperative sent a contract for LP gas. Motion made by Roberts to contract 1,000 gallons at $1.05/gallon, seconded Dietz and carried.

Clerk asked the board to approve the election judge list for the primary. She will have the judges that completed training. The list was unavailable to her. She will have it by next month.

Brenda Hildebrand gave the park report. She asked for gravel to be put at the park on the parking lot and turn around now that the paving is done.  Dave will bring a load when he is working in the area. There has been someone dumping fish guts in the garbage at the park. A sign will be posted on the garbage and by the shelter saying no dumping of fish guts. The shelter is reserved for most of August and some of September. Everything is in good shape.
