June 8, 2016


Meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Holstrom. In attendance were Supervisor Val Dietz, Supervisor Eric Roberts, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, Steve Johnson, Dave Holmgren, Engineer Jeff Stabnow, Linda Mellon, Ken Wentz and John Anderson representing the Ottertail Property Owners Association. 

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Chairman Holstrom called the meeting to order.

Minutes were read.  Motion to approve minutes made by Roberts, seconded by Dietz and carried.

Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $8,098.24 and money market ending balance of $127,740.54.  Motion to approve made by Dietz, seconded by Roberts and carried.

Chairman Holstrom made a motion to approve claims #3824-3841, omit 3840 and 2 automatic withdrawals; it was seconded by Roberts and carried.

Holstrom made a motion to close the money market account and transfer all the money to the fire account to pay the township’s share of the new building. It was seconded by Roberts and carried.

John Anderson from the Ottertail Property Owners Association ask the board about having a party at the park for the general public. Tentative dates are Aug 8 or Aug. 27, 2016. He also gave an update on things that the association has been doing.

Township Roads were discussed. Walker Lake is ready for paving.  The town hall parking lot will be paved for letting the paving company use it for storing recycle and equipment. Shouldering and driveways was discussed. Clerk voiced her concerns about what materials would be placed on certain driveways.  Grass will be planted on the shoulders in the swamp area of Eldorado Beach Road to help with erosion.

Supervisor Dietz made a motion to approve the on-sale liquor license for Amor Rumors. It was seconded by Roberts and carried.

Linda Mellon ask the board for permission and authority for her to write grants for new playground equipment for Amor Park. Dietz made a motion to give her the authority and the tax ID number, seconded by Roberts and carried.  She will work with Brenda Hildebrand on a plan for what equipment is needed and wanted at the park.

Clean-Up Days were discussed. All board members will help with the set up. Clerk will pick up supplies for the day. Everyone will need to be at the town hall by 8:00am.

Roberts made a motion to pave the parking lot at Amor Park up to the gate, seconded by Dietz and carried.

Fire Report was given by Holstrom. He asked if the board would pay $35.00 for him attending the meetings. He gets $25 from the Fire Association. This would be the same cost as the set wages for the township supervisors and meetings. Motion was made by Dietz, seconded Roberts, and carried. This will be the same for any supervisor attending the fire meetings.

The tree planted on the township’s right-of-way was discussed. A letter will be sent to the correct party as the clerk was given the wrong name.

Clerk will call and talk with Catherine Barner about the reading library she put up. It is very close to the road and in the township’s right-of-way. She will need to move it back.

With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 8:24 pm.
