March 9, 2016

 

Meeting was called to order by Chairman Eric Roberts. In attendance were Supervisor Mike Holstrom, Supervisor Val Dietz, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, Steve Johnson, Dave Holmgren, and Engineer Jeff Stabnow.

Chairman Roberts turned the meeting over to Supervisor Holstrom who will be Chairman for the next year.

Minutes were read.  Motion to approve minutes with Dave Holmgren added to the attendance made by Dietz, seconded by Roberts and carried.

Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $71,948.88 and money market ending balance of $127,661.16.  Motion to approve made by Dietz, seconded by Roberts and carried.

Chairman Holstrom made a motion to approve claims #3752-3781 and 2 automatic withdrawals; it was seconded by Roberts and carried.

Jeff Stabnow presented the board with estimates for the road projects for the coming year. Projected costs were down substantially from last year. Roberts made a motion to advertise for bids for all 4 projects to be done this year. Motion was seconded by Dietz and carried.

Steve Johnson will look at the cracks in the asphalt on Eldorado Beach Road east of Amor Park and prepare the spots that need to be fixed on Walker Lake Road and Augustana. He will also check on getting the signs ordered and posts that need to be replaced for the signage project. Clerk will get him a complete list of signs.

Chairman Holstrom called for setting the wages for the township as follows;

Clerk- $300.00/month, $60.00/ Mtg, and 15.00/hr anything over 4 hrs. Motion Roberts, seconded Dietz and carried.

Treasurer- $250.00/month, 60.00/mtg, $15.00/hr anything over 4 hrs. Motion Dietz, seconded Roberts and carried.

Election Judges $10.00/hr., Motion Dietz, seconded Roberts and carried.

Snowplow /Grader/ Mower $17.00/hr. Motion made by Roberts to make all operator wages the same, mower was increased by $2.00 and hour. seconded Dietz and carried.

Mileage (government rate). Motion Roberts, seconded Dietz and carried.

Township snowplowing for residents $20.00/ time or $60.00/ hr., Non-resident $60.00/ time or $150.00/hr. Motion Dietz, seconded Roberts, carried.

Town hall rental is at boards discretion, Twp residents $15.00+cleanup for meeting room, Non-residents $35.00+cleanup. Whole building- residents $50.00+cleanup, nonresidents $175.00+cleanup. Motion Dietz, seconded Roberts and carried.

Amor Park Maintenance- $650.00/month for 6 months, Motion Roberts, seconded Dietz and carried.

Township clean up days were discussed. Dietz will check with Steve’s Sanitation and the Clerk will check with Lakes Area Sanitation. They will get back to the board next month with information.

Holstrom gave an update on the Fire Association. He made a motion to approve the resolution 16-01, which is a certification of indebtedness, to build the new Fire Hall. This is needed to continue the financing for the Fire Hall. Roberts seconded the motion and it was carried. The full resolution is on file with the township clerk.

The board canvassed the March Election results. They are as follows;

Eric Roberts 18 votes for Supervisor

Brenda Hildebrand 21 votes for Clerk

There were 23 total voters.

Clerk informed the board that Jim Stewart is no longer trimming trees. He has retired.

With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm.
