Amor Township Minutes For
February 10, 2016
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Eric Roberts. In attendance were Supervisor Val Dietz, Supervisor Mike Holstrom, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, Engineer Jeff Stabnow, David Stock, and Dan Thorson.
Pledge allegiance was recited.
Minutes were read; Motion to approve minutes made by Holstrom, seconded by Dietz and carried.
Treasurer’s report was read with a checkbook ending balance of $70,366.74 and a money market ending balance of $127,606.19. Motion to approve made by Holstrom, seconded by Dietz, and carried.
Supervisor Holstrom made a motion to pay claims #3740-3751 and 2 automatic withdrawals. Dietz seconded and carried.
David Stock addressed the board with concerns about a tree planted in the ight-of-way on Augustana Loop. It obstructs the view of traffic. The layout of the cart way has been changed by current property owners. Holstrom made a motion to have clerk send a letter to the owners about removal of tree and the township right of way easement. Dietz seconded it and carried.
Dan Thorson addressed chairman Eric Roberts on his opinion of the road projects and turning the asphalt roads bad to gravel. He had some concerns on this statement and wanted Roberts to clarify his position. Roberts stated that he was in favor of the road plan.
Road report was given by Dave Holmgren.
Trees need to be trimmed on Eldorado Beach Road.
Holmgren had gotten a quote on 4 tires from Brian’s Repair from Underwood. The quote was $1,010.00/tire and $320 for removal and replacement. Motion to accept made by Dietz, seconded Holstrom and carried.
Jeff Stabnow gave and update on the next stage in the township road plan for this year. He had good news on the price of asphalt had gone down from $60/ton to $45/ton or so. This will save a lot of money for the township. Bids will need to be done soon. He also discussed Walker Lake Road project and finishing the swamp part of Eldorado Beach Road to Amor Park.
Supervisor Dietz gave the fire report. He attended the annual meeting. The budget was set for the new year. Each township in the association will need to sign a certificate of indebtedness. The projected amount for each township should be around $130,000.00. The budget amounts for upcoming year are $60,000.00 fire department, $40,000.00 rescue squad, 35,000.00 building fund. This is the same as last year.
With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:53 pm.
