October 12, 2016


Meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Holstrom. In attendance were Supervisor Val Dietz, Supervisor Eric Roberts, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren was absent, Engineer Jeff Stabnow, Ben Hochstein and Dave Holmgren.

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Chairman Holstrom called the meeting to order.

Minutes were read.  Motion to approve minutes made by Dietz, seconded by Roberts and carried.

Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $128,215.59. Motion to approve made by Roberts, seconded by Dietz and carried.

Chairman Holstrom made a motion to approve claims #3902-3915, and 2 automatic withdrawals. It was seconded by Roberts and carried.

Clerk presented the board with the list of election judges for approval. Clerk Brenda Hildebrand and Mark Wing as Head Judges, Jim Olson, Galen Youngsma, Mary Hein, Cindy Dean, Suzie Johnson, Corrine Wilson, Pasibeth Seemen, Larry Stewart, Ann Gibbs, Catherine Barner, Mary Lou Zimmerman as judges. Motion to approve made by Dietz, seconded Roberts and carried.

Dietz received a call from Stolens, the owner of the tree on Augustana Drive. He asked if they could remove it in the spring because they are gone for the season. The board set a date for removal no later than Memorial Day. If it is not removed by this date, the township will remove it at the owner’s expense.

Jeff Stabnow gave an update on the fire hall. It should be finished by November. Some of the building concerns are being looked at.

Ben Hochstein came to discuss the trimming that the township wanted done. He will meet with Dave and go over the areas that need brushing. There are places on Walker Lake Road, Eldorado Beach Road, Amor Park Road, and Augustana Drive.

Tri- City sent the bond for the work done this summer. Motion was made by Dietz to approve, seconded by Roberts and carried.

Roberts made a motion to get 80 yards of salt and sand from the county. It was seconded by Dietz and carried. Resolution 1012016.

Sealcoating was discussed. Stabnow suggested that we do it next year because they have the best outcome and wear when it is done as soon as possible. Board will look into it in the spring.

Board discussed and looked over the development on Augustana Drive. No action was taken or needed.

Board received a letter from Rick Adams from Verizon about a cell tower by adding on to the County tower by Roberts. It is with KGI wireless. We have no zoning issues.

Brenda Hildebrand gave the park report. The dock is out. The well has been drained and turned off. The bathhouse is winterized. She will finish mulching the leaves.

With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:53 pm.
