The fast food chain is a favorite among celebrities like Reba McEntire and Drew Barrymore, both of whom have go-to Sonic orders they swear by. With a constant lineup of new menu deals, delicious items, and creative beverages like its recently released Strawberry Fusion Fizz, Sonic is a spot that keeps both new and returning customers pulling up to its drive-in screens.
Now, Sonic is bringing back a crowd-pleasing beverage that's part of its Flavorista Favorites drink lineup, a selection of drinks that's exclusive to the Sonic app.
The Return of Sonic's Strawberry Shortcake Snowball Slush Float
Sonic’s beloved Strawberry Shortcake Snowball Slush Float is dropping at the skiing and snowboarding competition X Games Aspen 2025 on Jan. 23, and will be available nationwide in the Sonic app starting Jan. 27.
The Strawberry Shortcake Float features real strawberries, sweet shortcake-flavored Sonic Slush, and a snowball-inspired topping of creamy vanilla soft-serve and crunchy sugar.

The Strawberry Shortcake Snowball Slush Float first debuted in 2023 and instantly became a fan favorite. “I used to love when they would have cream slushes,” said one TikToker. “This is so good. So refreshing, and then I love it with the ice cream mixture and you do have that shortcake flavoring and you can see the little sugar sprinkles. Lots of textures. Lots of flavors. Perfect. Ten-out-of-ten.”
Sonic is giving us something sweet to sip on through the rest of winter and we can’t wait to get our hands on a Shortcake Float. Until then, we’ll be filling the strawberry shortcake-shaped void in our lives with treats like strawberry pie and strawberry cheesecake.
