If you’re anything like me, you have a collection of mugs that just keeps growing. I have a mug with my college’s logo, a mug I painted at a friend’s birthday party, mugs from inside jokes, vacation souvenir mugs, gifted mugs, and a “nice, cohesive” set of mugs for “when company comes over” that my mom insisted on getting me. All this to say: I have a lot of mugs that take up a lot of space. They all jockey for a spot on the shelf, but space is in short supply since I live in an apartment.

While browsing Amazon for work, I stumbled upon the solution to my abundance of mugs: a nifty little gadget with absolutely glowing reviews.

Elypro Adjustable Mug Stacker

The very first review caught my attention right away. “What a genius little gadget! Works like a charm, and my cabinets have more storage space now that my mugs are organized in this manner. Love them!” said one reviewer. Intrigued, I took a closer look.

The Elypro Mug Stacker resembles a thin plastic disk with three extendable arms, each tipped with a small bar. Place the disk on top of a mug, then grab a second mug, flip it mouth-side down, and gently squeeze the arms shut so they hug the sides of the mugs. In the end, you’ll have a stacked pair safely (though gently) secured. No worrying about mugs toppling over.

“I like that they adjust to the size of the mugs and help maximize storage,” said another reviewer. The stacker takes advantage of unused vertical space, leaving you with more shelf space for other glasses or dinnerware (or more mugs). Since the arms are adjustable, the stackers fit various sizes and shapes—which is great for novelty mug collectors. However, some reviewers note they don’t fit the tops of extra large mugs, though you could flip it over and use the stacker on the mug’s bottom instead.

Though marketed as a mug stacker, the device works with other things, too. “I don’t have a coffee mug problem, [my problem] is stemless wine glasses and regular glasses. These absolutely corralled my collection and gave me back a ton of space, too,” one reviewer reported. Flipping through all the images provided by other reviewers is, frankly, impressive. Many include before-and-after shots showcasing their transformed kitchen cabinets. Some even feature tea cups or bizarrely shaped mugs, all neatly stacked.

The devices are sold in sets of six, though several reviewers wished they had bought more than one set at once. Be sure to count the mugs, glasses, and cups you plan on stacking before checking out. They are also available in three colors—black, orange, and blue. Now, excuse me while I add some to my shopping cart.
