Groceries are pretty expensive these days, so I’ve started stocking up on kitchen staples like spices and rice at Dollar Tree to offset the effects of things like rising egg prices on my family’s monthly grocery budget. As it turns out, the bargain retailer is a surprisingly fun and affordable place to shop for grocery items—some TikTokers even build accounts based on cooking affordable dinners with Dollar Tree finds.

One of the latest Dollar Tree kitchen items to make its rounds on social media isn’t exactly food, but instead, it’s a way to make your edible items last a little longer. After all, a great way to save money on groceries is to use up leftovers, like cooked spaghetti, or recycling some items, like coffee grounds, for another meal.

This super-cheap Dollar Tree find, spotted on Instagram, will help you store leftovers and pre-cut produce, quickly saving you a ton of wasted food and, of course, cash.

The Dollar Tree Reusable Seals That Will Save You Money

Instagram content creator Emma Villaneda, who posts as @thecraftedstudioco, recently shared some of her favorite Dollar Tree finds, and on the list were Sure Fresh reusable stretch silicone seals. The three-pack costs just $1.25, and comes with three different sizes: small (6-inch square), medium (8.5-inch square), and large (11-inch square). The covers stretch to fit over bowls and hold their seal once pressed onto them.

“I had some bacon leftover from dinner,” Villaneda says in her video, “and these were actually so stretchy and stayed in place even with some strong pokes and a good shake.”

A TikTok posted by @staceyhernandez5 shows the seals in use, covering a glass bowl full of pasta salad. The coverings look a bit like Glad’s Press’n Seal Cling Film when stretched out and applied, but since they’re thicker and reusable, they’re likely to save some big bucks in use-and-toss food storage materials.

The puzzling thing about this no-brainer purchase is locating it in your local Dollar Tree. I recently visited seven different locations over several days on a mission to locate the silicone covers, and I struck out every single time. So, these money-saving storage items either haven’t made it to my area of Florida, or they’re selling out lightning fast.

If you can’t find them at your nearby Dollar Tree, we have other ways for you to store food. Instead, try our favorite glass food storage containers, these pantry-perfect dry food storage containers, or another bargain find. But, I’m still keeping the Dollar Tree seals on my shopping list in the hopes I can find them in future store visits.
