Admittedly, I don’t get fast food burgers very often because they always end up being hit or miss for me—unless it’s Shake Shack. If I’m out and about and need a quick bite, Shake Shack is where I turn to because it consistently delivers fantastic meals. I’m not alone in thinking this. When Allrecipes asked four professional chefs which the best fast food burgers were, Shake Shack and In-N-Out Burger came out on top.
The last time I went to a Shake Shack was this past December while I was out holiday shopping. The burger was just as good as I recalled. The bill, for a single cheeseburger, fries, and small fountain drink, was not as I recalled. It was about $17. Even though I write about food all the time and am aware of the increase in menu prices, I was still shocked. Fortunately, the burger was delicious, the fries were hot and crispy, and I took advantage of the free soda refill.
When I saw that Shake Shack is offering its first-ever combo meal, I thought, maybe I won’t be so sticker-shocked if I pop into a Shake Shack again. If I do, it won’t be for a burger, though.
Shake Shack’s New $9.99 Combo Meal
In what the chain is calling its “best deal yet,” Shake Shack is offering a $9.99 combo meal, which includes a Chicken Shack, small soda, and an order of classic fries. The Chicken Shack is the restaurant’s entry into the crispy chicken sandwich category. It features a crispy, white-meat chicken breast on top of lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo on a toasted potato bun.
To get the deal, order at a kiosk in-store or on the Shack App or website. Add the Chicken Shack, small soda, and classic fries to your order, and then enter the code CHICKEN (it must be in all caps) at checkout. The promo price of $9.99 will then appear.
This new meal deal is running from March 3 through March 15 at participating Shake Shack locations and is not valid on orders made through third-party delivery apps. Please note that there is a limit of one deal per order.
At my local Shake Shack, before adding the promo code, the same combo comes to $16.47 before tax, so this deal is a pretty good steal if you're asking me.
