Many home cooks prefer using cast iron cookware since the material is so versatile. You use it on a stovetop, in the oven, on a grill, or even above a campfire. Durable and long-lasting, cast iron is celebrated for its incredible heat retention. When it gets hot, it stays hot. And while that’s great for searing a steak, it’s bad news for your hands.
