Snacking is not a seasonal pastime. Who doesn’t snack spring, summer, winter, and fall? So the fact that some store-bought snacks are seasonal, that can be baffling. When a sweet treat you discover in summer disappears simply because it gets colder? What’s that all about?
Maybe it’s about creating want. If something is always there, you can stop wanting it as much. Think about it: If Trader Joe’s Mini Lemon Sheet Cake was always in stock, would there be such excitement about them? If the McRib was always on the menu, would there be such a frenzy when it returns? If Little Debbie’s Christmas Tree Snack Cakes were still around in January, would they be so special at the holidays?
The answer to all those questions is, “No.” Little Debbie is particularly guilty of releasing seasonal snacks and then making them disappear for months and months. Like those super popular Christmas Tree Snack Cakes or the brand’s spring Easter Basket Cakes, we get them back and then lose them annually.
But good news: Four of Little Debbie's summer treats are back just in time for the warmer months, the ice cream bars.
Little Debbie Ice Cream Bars Are Back
Last year, Little Debbie added two new ice cream bars to its snack-cake inspired frozen lineup, Little Debbie Star Crunch and Strawberry Shortcake Roll Ice Cream Bars. They joined two existing frozen treats, and now all four of those ice cream bars are back, just before spring and warm weather has us heading to the freezer more and more to cool off.
Here’s the full lineup:
- Birthday Cake Ice Cream Bars: White cake-flavored ice cream with cake pieces and colorful sprinkles mixed throughout.
- Strawberry Shortcake Rolls Ice Cream Bars: A delightful white cake-flavored ice cream with cake crumbles and a strawberry ribbon swirled in every bite.
- Nutty Bars Ice Cream Bars: A creamy peanut butter ice cream base with crunchy peanut butter pieces, all dipped in crispy milk chocolate.
- Star Crunch Ice Cream Bars: Caramel-flavored ice cream with a caramel ribbon and crispy bits, all dipped in rich milk chocolate.
Of course, these aren’t the only frozen treats Little Debbie offers. You can find Little Debbie ice cream pints in the freezer section, too. All these ice cream choices should hold us over just fine until the Christmas Trees come back, right?
