The condiment aisle at any grocery store can feel never-ending—especially when you consider that condiments aren’t traditionally something you have to purchase very often. However, when you do buy them, you’re likely going back to your tried-and-true products every time.

I know I do—and nine times out of 10, that tried and true comes from Heinz. (Want to know how much I love Heinz ketchup? Just quickly hover over my name at the top of this story and look at the photo that pops up.)

I take my condiments pretty seriously, so when I learned about a new line of sauces and condiments coming to Walmart from a certain Texas celeb, I was pretty intrigued. And, no, it’s not Matthew McConaughey (even though he does love ketchup).

Smash Kitchen / Allrecipes

Actor Glen Powell recently launched his first foray into the kitchen: Smash Kitchen, a line of sauces and condiments ranging from traditional ketchup and mustard to spicy mayo and hot honey-infused barbecue sauce.

Powell’s Smash Kitchen line features eight products: Classic Tomato Ketchup, Hot Honey Ketchup, American Style BBQ Sauce, Hot Honey BBQ Sauce, Yellow Mustard, Dijon Mustard, Real Mayonnaise, and Spicy Mayonnaise.

All of the products are organic and made without high-fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, and additives. However, as a Walmart-exclusive product, the price points don’t exceed $5. Each of Powell’s Smash Kitchen sauces costs between $1.97 and $4.97 and will be sold at Walmart stores nationwide, as well as on Walmart.com.

Smash Kitchen’s products are hitting Walmart stores now, with sauces available in different sizes, shapes, and flavors to work with every kitchen. I got an early taste of Powell’s line of Smash Kitchen condiments, and these are my honest thoughts.

My Honest Review of Glen Powell's Smash Kitchen Line

As I said, there are dozens of condiment lines and sauces out there to choose from, so drumming up excitement and releasing something unique could be tricky. And yet, Powell is doing just that.

The line of organic sauces is cheaper than most name-brand organic condiments on the market—and available in flavors we haven’t seen elsewhere.

With hot honey as popular as it is, it’s shocking that Smash Kitchen beat every other brand to the punch with a Hot Honey Ketchup—but wow, is it tasty. The ketchup has a good heat that’s mellowed out by the tangy tomatoes and sweet honey. As a die-hard Heinz fan, I wouldn’t choose Smash Kitchen’s classic ketchup over my tried-and-true, but it is still a good, bold dipping sauce perfect for fries.

But, out of all the new Smash Kitchen sauces, my favorite dippable option is the Spicy Mayonnaise. It has a sharp heat from red jalapeño peppers, but it’s not too spicy thanks to the creamy, garlicky base. I tried it with french fries, a burger, and dolloped on top of a deviled egg, and every dish was elevated by the spicy mayo’s flavors.

Another delicious option for “swicy” lovers is Smash Kitchen’s Hot Honey BBQ Sauce. The sweet, tangy, smoky, slightly spicy sauce stood out atop a pulled chicken slider and will surely be a go-to for grilling this summer.

Lastly, both the Dijon Mustard and Yellow Mustard are great for mustard lovers. Personally, I opt for Dijon over yellow, so, for that reason, I’d choose Smash Kitchen’s Dijon to add to my fridge, but they’re both good options.

Overall, I was incredibly impressed with Powell’s new Smash Kitchen line. The sauces are made with clean ingredients and—unlike some celebrity culinary lines—aren’t going to break the bank. As a Walmart exclusive with a low price point, Smash Kitchen’s condiments are feasible for most shoppers—and I can absolutely see them becoming a fan-loved product. I know I’ll be adding the Hot Honey BBQ Sauce and Spicy Mayonnaise to my shopping list next time I’m at Walmart.
