Key Takeaways

  • A big name in so-called "healthy" prebiotic sodas has a new flavor out now that is reminding fans of Mountain Dew.
  • Unlike other Mountain Dew copycats on the market, this one also has caffeine to give customers that similar jolt.

Mountain Dew fans are all about this OG soda brand. It’s been around since 1940, so it is trusted for that lemon-lime fizzy flavor.

But lately, even diehards can’t help but notice that some healthier alternatives, like Olipop, have been taking on Mountain Dew’s iconic lemon-lime flavor and making it their own, giving more ways to enjoy that classic taste.

Now, Poppi is getting in on the action with its brand new soda flavor that tastes a lot like what Mountain Dew fans know and love—and looks even like it, too.

Poppi Releases a New Alpine Blast Flavor

Poppi, the popular prebiotic soda brand, recently released its new flavor: Alpine Blast. The latest bubbly beverage features apple, lime, and vegetable juices to provide a sweet and tangy citrus flavor. These natural juices also give it a green color that looks like the Mountain Dew hue, but without artificial dyes.

A can of Alpine Blast isn’t just about the flavor and color. It also includes 55 milligrams of natural caffeine from actual coffee extract, giving fans the energy kick of what they’d feel from about half a cup of coffee (or a traditional Mountain Dew!). Plus, it’s packed with 3 grams of fiber and just 5 grams of sugar to help make it an alternative to the regular pop players.

Poppi’s Instagram post describes the latest iteration as its “supercharged citrus soda,” and “obsessed” fans are on board, exclaiming their “Jaw dropped as always” and are “sooo excited” to try it. Those who have already tried the new soda call it “Perfection” and claim that it “tastes just like mtn dew!” Of course, many are also “immediately running to the store” to find it.

Single cans, four-packs, and 12-packs of Poppi’s Alpine Blast are available now at major retailers like Target and Walmart nationwide. Unlike limited edition flavors, this is part of the permanent collection. That means, if you like it, you’ll be able to enjoy the fresh and bright taste all year round.
