We already know that Sonic’s drinks are top-tier. From the distinctively crunchy nugget ice to its range of flavorful slushes, milkshakes, and specialty drinks like dirty soda, there’s always something exciting to try. While the drinks often take the spotlight, fans know the drive-in style chain also has plenty of great food options like golden potato tots and Coney dogs, too.
Recently, Sonic expanded its value menu, giving fans even more ways to save. The lineup includes Queso Wraps, chicken sandwiches, and Groovy Fries, for just $1.99 each. Now, the chain is offering one of its newest burgers for a fraction of the price—but you’ll have to act fast if you want to snag one.
How to Get a $1 Burger From Sonic
Starting April 21, Sonic guests can score a Double Sonic Smasher for just $1. The double patty handheld, which typically costs around $7, debuted last summer and was an instant hit with fans.
One person on Reddit even said it was the “the best fast food burger I’ve had in a minute.” Many others chimed in to share positive reviews and noted that the meat is a step above the rest. “The meat on the Smasher is new and [is] night and day different than the meat on every other burger offered,” wrote one user.
Sonic’s smash burgers are made with Angus beef, which is known for its rich flavor and tenderness. The chain’s other burgers, like the Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger, list 100% beef as the base, but don’t specify the type. In addition to the patties, Sonic Smashers include cheese, pickles, diced onions, Smasher Sauce, and a fluffy potato bun.
Guests will have one week to claim their $1 burger by ordering through the Sonic app. The offer will expire when 1 million burgers have been redeemed or at the promotion’s close on April 27. So, if you haven’t tried Sonic’s smash burgers yet, there’s never been a better time.
