It’s been years since McDonald’s customers have been able to go through the drive-thru, roll down the window of their car, and drive away with what many McD’s fans think is the ultimate handheld—the Snack Wrap. In 2016, McDonald’s removed it from the majority of its menus, and fans have been begging for it to return ever since.
At the end of last year, the president of McDonald’s USA, Joe Erlinger, let it slip on “Good Morning America” that the beloved Snack Wraps would return sometime in 2025, but he didn’t give a specific date, leaving fans—who seem to be unable to find joy without crispy chicken strips wrapped in a tortilla—in agonizing suspense.
We are now one step closer to knowing when the wraps will return…sort of. It seems Mickey D’s is having fun keeping fans in the dark and took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to give them another small piece of the “When will Snack Wraps return?” puzzle.
When Snack Wraps Are Returning to McDonald's
Yesterday, McDonald’s posted on X a simple, but cryptic message: snack wraps 0x.14.2025.
Now we know that sometime this year, Snack Wraps will be back at McDonald’s on the 14th of a yet-to-be-disclosed month. The brand had some fun responding to many of the commenters, too.
“Quit playing around with my emotions old man!” one X user demanded, to which McDonald’s responded, “Adding this my list of nicknames.”
McDonald’s did not break, no matter how much its followers asked for more info, including if the return of the long-gone menu item will drop next month.
“05.15.2025??” one fan asked. McDonald’s responded, “heres what i can say: .” The brand simply would not give in to begging and pleading.
We wish we had some inside information for those of you who covet the OG Snack Wraps, but we don’t. Our best advice? Mark your calendars for the 15th of next month, and if it comes and goes without McDonald’s giving you what you want, mark your calendars for the 15th of the following month. And so on and so on, until those tortillas stuffed with breaded chicken strips are back in your hands. And, you can be sure if and when we do get an official return date, you’ll be the first to know.
