Key Takeaways

  • There's a new probiotic soda in stores that takes inspiration from a fan-favorite flavor from the '90s.
  • The soda contains 20 percent real fruit juice and plenty of probiotics to support gut health.
  • Fans are already obsessing over the new drink, with one person calling it "the flavor of my dreams."

If you haven’t jumped on the “better for you” soda train yet, there’s something you should know. You can’t crack one open and expect it to taste exactly like a Coke or Mountain Dew. It’s not going to be identical to your favorite soft drink because it uses different ingredients and processing. Not to mention, many soda alternatives are intentionally less sweet.

But it’s worth a second sip, and even a third. Embracing companies like Poppi, Olipop, and Culture Pop for what they are, rather than viewing them as replacements, will allow you to appreciate the refreshing and unique offerings each brand brings to the market.

And if you didn’t like the first “healthier soda” you tried, don’t write off the whole lineup. As interest grows, so does the flavor selection. Recently, Olipop brought back Peaches & Cream Soda, which initially debuted as part of its ‘80s-inspired Barbie collab.

Now, Culture Pop, a probiotic soda brand, is tugging at the hearts of ‘90s kids everywhere by launching a nostalgic new flavor.

Culture Pop Introduces Grape Soda

Culture Pop Grape Soda is heading to stores nationwide. The new flavor is a reimagined form of the classic grape soda you may remember from childhood. Culture Pop’s version was developed because, according to the brand, “growing up doesn’t mean letting go of what you loved—it means finding a version that’s grown with you.”

Culture Pop’s grape soda contains 20 percent real fruit juice, which gives it a lightly sweet taste without the need for refined sugar or sugar substitutes. It uses a blend of white grape juice, Concord grape juice, and lemon juice for a bright and refreshing sip that’s true to its name.

On Instagram, Culture Pop announced the new soda with a photo of the purple can alongside a juice box-style straw. “GRAPE SODA GREW UP… and it tastes even better than you remember,” the brand wrote in the caption. Fans raced to the comments to voice their support, many calling it a “need” and one person saying they are “grapeful for this masterpiece.”

Those who have already tried it had nothing but positive things to say. “I have had one can and can tell you it’s my favorite and I now crave it!! So good,” said one Instagrammer. “It’s so yum!” added another.

You can find Culture Pop Grape Soda on the brand’s website, as well as in additional retailers like Target, Whole Foods, and Amazon. It’s expected to roll out to Albertsons and Safeway soon as well. All this talk of nostalgia has us craving our favorite childhood meals. So, if you need us, we’ll be reminiscing and saving all the best ‘90s recipes to our virtual recipe box.
