Oreo Launches New Chocolate Covered Pretzel Cookies

I grew up eating the best chocolate-covered pretzels of all time made by a local candy shop in Pittsburgh called Sarris Candies. The pretzels are so beloved in our city that even football star J.J. Watt has to pick up a box (or multiple) whenever he visits his brother T.J. in the ‘Burgh.
While I can’t get what Watt calls the “Yinzer delicacy” outside of Pittsburgh, I’ll always opt for chocolate-and-pretzel-flavored anything whenever I see it. So, you better bet I’ll be sprinting to the store when Oreo releases its Chocolate Covered Pretzel cookies.
The Chocolate Covered Pretzel Oreos feature a first-of-its-kind pretzel-flavored Oreo cookie sandwiched with chocolate-flavored crème and topped with salt. It’s the brand’s first-ever sweet-and-savory cookie—and it’s a great first choice, if I do say so myself.
Oreo’s new sweet-and-salty cookie comes a few weeks after Flipz, the snack brand known for chocolate-covered pretzels, released new Fried Cookie-Flavored Covered Pretzels. The salty pretzels feature a candy coating that tastes like the iconic fair food, fried Oreos.
A bag of Flipz Fried Cookie-Flavored Covered Pretzels and a package of Chocolate Covered Pretzel Oreos sounds like the perfect snacking duo for us sweet-and-salty fans. However, before you get in your car to grab the pair, you’ll want to know that Oreo’s new cookies aren’t on shelves just yet.
The brand-new Chocolate Covered Pretzel Oreos won’t be at stores until May 5, when they’ll begin rolling out to retailers nationwide. Oreo’s new flavor will only be available for a limited time, though, so there's no judgment if you stock up on 10 packages at a time before it’s too late—I know I will be.
