When I need to stock my pantry, I know the one place that won’t let me down: Trader Joe’s. The grocer has everyday staples for a good price, one-of-a-kind items (I’m looking at you, Salmon Rub Seasoning Blend), and a massive list of convenience products, like my all-time favorite Garden Vegetable Soup.
Well, that convenience list has grown. Until recently, spicy food lovers like me have noticed one product missing from TJ’s shelves: jarred pickled jalapeños.
Trader Joe's Launches First-Ever Pickled Jalapeño Pepper Slices
We first heard the news about TJ’s never-before-seen Pickled Jalapeño Pepper Slices on Instagram from @traderjoeslist, saying how “Trader Joe’s just dropped something bold [that is] definitely bringing the spice!”
According to the social post, “You get that bold kick of heat, plus a tangy mix of vinegar and salt that makes them super flavorful.” It adds that these new pickled peppers would make a great addition to tacos, tostadas, or nachos to offer “some fire to your next meal.”
In the comments section, other fans add more ways to use these pickled peppers, such as a pizza topping, mixing the slices (and the juices!) into a tuna salad, and baking the peppers in Trader Joe’s corn bread mix. We think they would also be great for spicing up our Famous Mexican Hotdogs or brightening up a traditional Reuben sandwich.
For around $2.99 per jar, you can stock up on these peppers and use them in all these ways—and more.
Trader Joe's Pickled Jalapeño Pepper Slices Review
What’s the verdict? Our news editor, Bailey Fink, found these Pickled Jalapeño Pepper Slices on her latest trip to Trader Joe’s. “I love having a jar of pickled jalapeños at all times, for homemade pizza nights and to add to salads and wraps,” she explained, noting that it’s a staple she’s never been able to get it at TJ’s. “It’ll save me an entire second trip to a grocery store when I want a delicious pop of heat and flavor for all my favorite dishes!”
If we know anything about new and exciting finds at TJ’s, it's that they can sell out super fast—so we suggest picking up a jar or two of these pickled jalapeños while they're, well, hot.
