If you’ve browsed the hot sauce aisle lately, there’s a good chance you’ve seen a bottle of Cholula. It has a distinct wooden cap that makes it easy to spot, even amongst an aisle filled with similarly-colored sauces. Cholula’s signature sauce is made with a family recipe that goes back over a century, with a distinct pepper blend that makes it easy to see why fans love it so much. But hot sauce isn’t the only thing that Cholula has to offer. From salsa to taco seasoning and even frozen burrito bowls, the brand has a range of products to satisfy any taste preference (and tolerance for spice).
Recently, in its largest launch yet, the brand announced that it’s adding 11 new products to stores, and fans can’t wait to try them all.
Cholula Launches 11 New Products
Cholula is launching four new cooking sauces, plus multiple finishing sauces and seasoning blends that will allow home cooks to experience restaurant-quality meals right in their own kitchen. The brand says the lineup is inspired by consumers’ desire for more adventurous meals.
“With these new product innovations, we’re enabling consumers to explore the distinctiveness of Mexican cooking in their everyday lives by opening the door to new, flavorful ways to experience Cholula,” said Valda Coryat, North America Vice President of Marketing for McCormick & Company.
Cholula posted the announcement on Instagram, and fans raced to the comments to share their thoughts. “Okay, but how do I get my hands on absolutely everything?” said one person. “BRB buying 10 of each,” added another. One fan called the lineup “outstanding,” while many others excitedly chimed in to ask where they could find the new products.
Here’s a look at what’s heading to stores:
- Cooking sauces: This launch includes two Cooking & Simmer Sauces: Birria and Fajita. Cholula is also adding Taco Topping & Cooking Sauce and Carne Asada Marinade & Cooking Sauce to impart flavor at any stage of the process, from prep to serve. These sauces can be used on the stovetop or in the oven or multicooker, in place of your regular sauce for an effortless meal that gets dinner on the table a little easier (and faster).
- Cremosa: Creamy Cilantro Lime Cremosa Sauce and Chipotle Cremosa Sauce are the perfect way to layer flavors and top your favorite dishes. These smooth, creamy sauces are ideal for adding to burritos, tortas, and drizzling on top of casseroles. The Chipotle Cremosa adds a rich, smoky flavor, while the Cilantro Lime Cremosa features a tangy pop that can brighten and balance out any spice-filled dish.
- Sweet & Spicy Chamoy: Dip and drizzle fruit, garnish drinks, and finish savory meals with this bold and versatile condiment. Cholula’s chamoy is made from a blend of the brand’s signature Original Hot Sauce, chile de arbol peppers, and sweet hibiscus. The thick sauce adds a sweet, spicy, and sour kick to any dish it touches.
- Chilies & Pepitas Chili Crisp: This innovation makes it easy to spoon bold flavor on top of all your favorite recipes. The crisp is made from a blend of three chile peppers, plus garlic and onion. Pepitas and sesame seeds give it a big crunch that can liven up fried eggs, tostadas, and avocado toast.
- Dry Seasoning Blends: Cholula is expanding its line of restaurant-inspired seasonings with two new blends. Original Fajita Medium Seasoning Mix and Pork Carnitas Mild Seasoning Mix are now available to add effortless flavor to your weekly rotation.
- Original Hot Salsa: All the original flavor fans love in the brand’s salsa, but now with a fiery kick. Use it anywhere you want to turn up the heat, such as on top of tacos, or pour it on chicken for an easy weeknight slow cooker meal.
Where to Buy Cholula's New Sauces and Seasonings
Cholula’s new products will soon roll out to select retailers nationwide, but if you’re ready to start cooking, you can grab them now on the McCormick website and Amazon. They will cost you about $6 for a 12-ounce jar of salsa or sauce, and $10 for the chili crisp or a seasoning blend.
