Key Takeaways
- McCormick is launching two new pepper-based spices that bring flavors from two very different regions.
- Both flavors have heat and sweetness in their own unique ways and will be available nationwide starting this May.
Last year, McCormick released its Crushed Jalapeño Pepper spice, and it quickly became a pantry staple in my kitchen: a perfect blend of bright, earthy flavors and a touch of sweetness that packs just the right amount of heat. I sprinkle this on just about anything, such as my homemade guacamole or marinara sauce. My favorite use, however, is to add a kick to my scrambled eggs. I used to always go for a jar of hot sauce, but the crushed jalapeños get the job done with just a few shakes of the bottle.
Now, McCormick is bringing two new crushed pepper spices with some international flavors that still pack a good punch, and I can’t wait to add them to my collection.
McCormick Launches Crushed Hatch Chile Pepper and Crushed Thai Style Chili Pepper Spices
McCormick
McCormick is adding two new spices to its crushed pepper line-up: Crushed Hatch Chile Pepper and Crushed Thai Style Chili Pepper, just in time to give our food a little kick for the summer.
McCormick Crushed Hatch Chile Pepper combines spiciness with sweetness for a flavor you can use in a wide range of dishes, such as sauces, dressings, vinaigrettes, and marinades. Pasta dishes like a spicy penne alla vodka or a sweet and spicy chicken stir-fry work well, along with my personal favorite: eggs. Try it on deviled eggs or even a frittata—any egg dish will do.

This Is When You Need to Replace Your Spices, According to McCormick
As for the McCormick Thai Style Crushed Chili Pepper, you can expect a much longer-lasting heat with some sweeter undertones that elevate soups, sauces, and curries. You can even recreate your takeout favorites like ramen noodles and green papaya salad.
Starting May 15, both new spices are available online at McCormick.com and Amazon, and at major grocery stores nationwide. If you’re like me and looking for more ways to add some heat to your meals, you’ll rush to the spice section to grab bottles of both.
