Aldi fans know that the budget-friendly store’s freezer aisle is top-tier, from Taco Bell copycats to a $5 breakfast winner. Whether you’re making Aldi’s viral smash burgers or trying the new dessert, which fans say they’d eat the entire box of at once, these freezer finds are guaranteed to be a hit.

Recently, shoppers spotted a fan-favorite product back on shelves, and some say it’s an “exact dupe” of a beloved breakfast item at Chick-fil-A. We believe it. Earlier this year, fans said Aldi’s other Chick-fil-A copycat is “better than the original.”

But you’ll have to act fast if you want this freezer find. Shoppers are already darting to Aldi, and they’re stocking up.

Aldi’s Season’s Choice Crispy Potato Circles Are Back

Say hello (again) to Season’s Choice Crispy Potato Circles. This bite-sized favorite is made of seasoned, shredded potatoes pressed into a round coin shape. It’s similar to a tater tot, but what makes these superior is the crunch factor. Potato Circles (also known as potato crowns) are thinner and flatter than traditional tots, which gives them a better crispy-outside-to-soft-center ratio.

Pricing for the 30-ounce bag varies by region, but we’ve found that it’s typically priced around 12 cents per ounce, making it less than $4 for the whole bag. And considering there are 10 servings per bag, that’s an incredible deal.

On Reddit, shoppers praised the return of the freezer find, many noting the texture and affordable price. “Bought them yesterday and they cooked up super crispy and with a nice amount of salt. Irresistible,” wrote one person.

"These taste like the kind you get at restaurants or fast food [chains], but a million times better," added another fan. "More crunchy and less greasy, and they are about $3.29 a bag!"

Some mentioned that Season’s Choice Crispy Potato Circles taste like Taco John’s Potato Olés, especially when topped with Lawry’s seasoned salt. However, others believe they are a copycat of a different fast food chain’s breakfast potatoes.

"These are like an exact dupe of the Chick-fil-A hashbrowns," said one Redditor. "I make copycat breakfast bowls with them and they are SO GOOD. I bought three bags this time because they haven’t had them in over a year."

Another fan chimed in to share exactly how they build their breakfast bowls at home. “I use these plus Just Bare chicken nuggets (not an Aldi item), eggs, shredded cheese, and salsa to make knock-off Chick-fil-A breakfast bowls,” they wrote.

More Ways to Use Aldi’s Crispy Potato Circles

These potatoes are delicious as a salty snack or side dish, but they also make an ideal recipe base that can be used with many different flavor profiles. Here’s some tot inspiration:

  • Bowls: Top with eggs and sausage gravy for a satisfying breakfast or transform into a comfort meal with leftover chili and shredded cheese. These also make an excellent addition to cheeseburger salads.
  • Burritos: Skip the drive-thru and make queso-covered tots at home. Add your favorite toppings such as ground beef, guacamole, and salsa. For a handheld version, fill a warmed tortilla with Crispy Potato Circles, shredded cheese, and a dollop of sour cream.
  • Casseroles: Use on top of a beefy tater tot casserole for added crunch, or try with our rich and creamy chicken version instead.
  • Sliders: Feeling creative and have time to spare? Whip up some teeny, tiny tot sliders for your next dinner party. Don’t forget the burger sauce for dipping.

Next time you head to Aldi, be sure to grab several bags of these versatile potatoes before they disappear. And don’t forget to bring your collapsible tote!
