We’ve never needed any convincing, but lately it seems that Doritos is on a mission to prove it’s the GOAT (greatest of all time) of the chip aisle. Though Nacho Cheese is forever a staple for both snacking and cooking, the brand continues to go above and beyond to show its range. Earlier this year, Doritos added sweet and tangy Golden Sriracha chips to the lineup. Since then, it has launched Flamin’ Hot Korean-Style BBQ, a jalapeño popper-inspired chip, and even made a spicy fan favorite part of its permanent lineup. As if that wasn’t enough, Doritos also recently brought back guacamole flavored tortilla chips after a 20-year hiatus.
Now, Doritos is launching yet another new flavor, but you’ll have to act fast because it’s only available for a limited time.
Doritos Launches New Twisted Queso Flavor
Could this be the summer of queso-flavored chips? Fritos and On the Border have already launched their own versions, and now Doritos is following in their footsteps with a zesty, queso-style chip of its own. Doritos Twisted Queso flavored tortilla chips are heading to stores just in time for the summer. The chips feature jalapeño flavor with a subtle kick of heat, plus all the cheesy taste of your favorite queso dip.
In a Reddit thread from two months ago, one person gave users a sneak peek at the upcoming release. “They won’t be released until May, but I have a friend who let me try some. They are fire. The taste makes me think of Cool Ranch + Queso,” they wrote. Fans flocked to the comment section to ask for details on the drop and share their excitement. “Can’t wait for this release! I love queso-flavored chips, so this should be up my alley,” wrote one user.

On Instagram, food insider @snackolator shared a photo of the red, white, and blue bag, writing, “Are you trying these? I will destroy a bag of these the second I see them!” The comment section was thrilled with the find, with one person saying they “sound incredible” and another adding, “Definitely YES.” And some are already making plans to stock up. “My new road trip snack has been born!” said one user. “I’m gonna need about 10 bags of these, queso is one of my all-time fave foods,” added another.
One fan has already spotted a display for Doritos Twisted Queso at Casey’s General Store, but we can expect the chips to soon land on shelves at retailers nationwide in 9-ounce bags for around $6.29 and 2.625-ounce bags for $2.69. So if you’re planning a road trip over the summer, or just want to spice up your picnics, be sure to grab a few bags before this limited-time snack leaves stores.
